The fifth generation of mobile communications, 5G, is already with us. However, there is a lot of misinformation and false expectations about what it is and how it can contribute to our well-being. This activity starts with a sharing of what the attendees know about 5G, in order to highlight those doubts that are most frequent. Then, PASSIONATE project researchers will provide information so that the attendees themselves can answer and jointly acquire more knowledge on the subject. The explanations will be accompanied by demonstrations of the most important concepts about radio and visible light communications (LiFi). This activity is carried out in the framework of the PASSIONATE project (Physics-based wireless AI providing scalability and efficiency), a European project funded by the CHIST-ERA program. In the project we are developing and applying new artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques to mobile communications. We are looking for techniques that are reliable, understandable and verifiable and that will improve current mobile communications and contribute to solving the challenges in the evolution towards 6G.
