In this talk you will discover the mysteries of the fascinating world of printed materials. We will show how materials deform and fragment under extreme conditions, such as hypervelocity impacts. Attendees will have the opportunity to 3D print, with the help of Artificial Intelligence, and test specimens subjected to impacts. The (Porous) Matrix Return tells the adventure of UC3M's Nonlinear Solid Mechanics (NSM) group, which is summoned by the resistance movement led by GTN, which fights against the domination of dense materials. GTN offers him two pills of different colors: with one he will continue in the illusion, with the other he will discover the truth. The NSM group chooses the red pill and wakes up in the real world where dense materials dominate the porous materials!!!! Thanks to the Chosen One, GTN, and with the help of Artificial Intelligence, will the NSM group succeed in removing the yoke that oppresses porous materials? Research staff from the PURPOSE (ERC Starting Grant, GA 758056), QUANTIFY (Marie Sklodowska-Curie GA 777896) and DIAGONAL (Marie Sklodowska-Curie GA 101086342) projects funded by the European Commission's Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe research and innovation programs are collaborating in this activity. In addition, research staff from the UNCLOAK project (PID2022-137559NB-I00) funded by the Proyectos de Generación de Conocimiento 2022 program of the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation, and from the MIRROR project funded by the BBVA Foundation's Leonardo Scholarships program, are also participating.
