Ignacio Moratilla is a PhD student at the Institute of Food Science, Technology and Nutrition (ICTAN-CSIC). While his academic background is rooted in the fields of food and health sciences, his true passion lies in the study of plants, particularly medicinal species.
He continuously updates his knowledge through official sources such as the monographs published by the European Medicines Agency (EMA), and has completed several specializations in medicinal plants and pharmacognosy.
His doctoral research focuses on the health effects of an extract derived from the olive tree in individuals at risk of developing age-related diseases. Through this work, he aims to expand the current scientific understanding of the benefits of natural compounds and their potential in preventive health strategies.
