3D printing has revolutionized the fields of biomedicine and pharmacy. One of the areas where it has significant applications is in cancer research and treatment. In this activity, we conducted a brief talk on what 3D printing is and the types that exist, and provided some examples of its application in cancer, such as the development of organ-on-a-chip models, smart capsules, and microneedles. Additionally, we carried out a practical workshop where students learned to design and 3D print a smart capsule capable of being loaded with chemotherapeutic compounds. These capsules are designed to be reabsorbed by the body using two types of 3D printing: FDM and SLA.
