Students from the Miguel Hernández Secondary School in Móstoles (Madrid) visit the facilities of the IMDEA Materials Institute to meet the women researchers working at the Institute and their main projects. The aim is that through dynamic talks, games and visits to some of the institute's laboratories, the students learn more about what it means to work in science and see that a career in science is also ‘a woman's job’. After being welcomed, they will listen to postdoctoral researcher Lucía Doyle talk about research in the first person and circularity in advanced engineering materials. Later, they will learn about major scientific advances in “Materials for energy storage applications” and “Intercalated bundle metamaterials”. The day will end with a talk by researcher Blanca Limones on women in science and in IMDEA Materials.
