#11F: Overcoming barriers: A woman researcher's career as a scientist

"During the activity, the key issues of stereotypes and the lack of female references in science will be addressed. This will be followed by an introduction to women in science, highlighting their contributions to inventions and discoveries, both everyday and extraordinary. Our academic background and personal experiences will be shared with the aim of generating empathy and closeness, allowing students to identify with the stories presented.
Following this, students will be divided into groups to encourage a more dynamic and in-depth discussion, during which their academic and professional aspirations will be explored, thus stimulating their confidence to enter the science, highlighting the importance of science in everyday life and in the development of society. Activity carried out in collaboration with the following projects and grants:
- Contract funded by the European Union - Next Generation EU, through the ‘Investigo Programme’, in the framework of the European Union's Recovery and Resilience Mechanism; and Grant 2022-T1/AMB-24063 funded by the Community of Madrid. - PAPILLONS Project ‘Plastic in Agricultural Production: Impacts, Lifecycles and LONg-term Sustainability’. This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 101000210. - AddiPlaS project (Grant PID2022-140011OB-I00 funded by MICIU/AEI /10.13039/501100011033 and by ERDF, EU).
