Chronic drug use progressively leads to brain dysfunctions that facilitate the appearance of addictive behaviours and relapses, even after long periods of abstinence. In this activity, participants will be shown how these alterations in brain areas that are important in the maintenance of addictive behaviours can be studied using an animal model of drug addiction.
