Evaluation process by ENQA

madri+d Foundation for Knowledge has been admitted as a full member of the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education, ENQA, for a period of 5 years as agreed at the ENQA Steering Committee meeting held on March 6, 2015.

This acceptance is preceded by a demanding evaluation process, carried out by a panel of international experts appointed by ENQA itself, in which the Foundation has demonstrated compliance with the Criteria and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area applicable to university quality assessment agencies. From this moment onwards, madri+d Foundation for Knowledge joins the association that includes the main and most prestigious European assessment agencies.

In accordance with national legislation on university quality, the Foundation -as a full member of ENQA- will be able to verify and evaluate the modifications of the new degrees that are implemented in the Madrid University System, which will result in a closer attention to the needs of our universities.

Evaluation Process

At the end of 2013, madri+d Foundation for Knowledge initiated the formalities to be admitted as a full member of ENQA. During 2014, a self-assessment report was prepared and sent to the ENQA secretariat and the panel of evaluators, made up of international experts with extensive experience in the sector. Following the review of the self-assessment report, the panel of experts undertook a visit on November 18, 19 and 20. During the meeting, hearings were held with representatives of the Foundation, its advisory and decision-making bodies, evaluators, the universities themselves and other stakeholders. Once the visit was concluded, the panel prepared an external evaluation report in which determined the degree of compliance with each of the requirements established by ENQA. This evaluation report was then scrutinized by the ENQA Steering Committee, which decided to approve it and grant the madri+d Foundation for Knowledge the status of full member for the next 5 years.

In 2017 the Foundation has prepared a follow-up report on the actions undertaken to address the improvements identified in the evaluation report. This report has been analyzed by the ENQA Steering Committee, composed of representatives of the quality agencies that make up ENQA, at its meeting last May in Oslo. According to the communication sent by the Chairman of ENQA Steering Committee, the members of the Committee have acknowledged the Foundation's progress and expressed their satisfaction with the improvements achieved in the last two years.
