European Researchers’ Night
The European Researchers´ Night in Madrid is a European initiative that aims to enhance public recognition of researchers and their work. It is promoted by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, coordinated by Fundación para el Conocimiento madri+d and co-funded by the European Commission. The event is held the last Friday of September simultaneously in over 300 cities since 2005.
The European Researchers' Night is a project of public awareness about researchers with the participation of the leading universities and research centers in Madrid and also scientific associations and institutions related to science, innovation, education and culture.
Objectives
- Bringing researchers closer to public.
- Increasing awareness of research and innovation activities.
- Eliminating existing stereotypes about scientists and their work.
- Highlighting the impact of research on the welfare of Society
- Encouraging young people to embark on scientific careers and attracting them to the enterprise and entrepreneurs world.
During the European Researchers' Night in Madrid, all the activities take place at different locations of the Region, between 16:00 and 24:00 pm.
