Collaborators

An event that combines a theater play with accessible scientific talks by researchers from UC3M.
In this edition, critical issues are addressed, such as disinformation on social media and mental health, advances in the creation of human mini-organs, Parkinson’s disease, and how to use neuroscience for healthy aging.

Participating professors from the University:

Uxía Carral Vilar, Department of Communication. “Disinformation on social media and mental health.”
Cristina Quílez López, Department of Bioengineering. “Mini-organs for personalized medicine without animals.”
Lidia Gómez Cid, Department of Bioengineering. “Neuroscience and therapies for healthy aging.”
Josefa Záldivar Díez de Bonilla, Department of Neuroscience and Biomedical Sciences. “Invisible symptoms of Parkinson’s and their origin.”

Theater Play:

An ecological crisis forced humanity to lock itself inside their homes. The unbreathable air, the rising temperatures... the climate made life outside the “Wellbeing” capsules impossible. Those who managed to acquire one of these survival-adapted homes —equipped with air filters, climate control, and a state-of-the-art AI-powered smart home system— survived the crisis. As for the rest of humanity, we know nothing.
In one of these “Wellbeing” homes lives Carlos. Every day he likes to exercise and take a shower. Even though he cannot leave his house, he clings to routines that remind him of life as it was back in 2025. But a corporate decision will soon put at risk both his daily routines and his confinement inside the smart home that shields him from the harsh climate outside. Will he be able to face the new payments? Or will he become part of the humanity left without climate refuge?
