Outdoor activity at the Solar Energy Institute (IES) of the Polytechnic University of Madrid, where researchers involved in the European E4F-LEFTSUN project, funded by the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions program and the Iberdrola Foundation, will demonstrate the importance and challenges of photovoltaic solar energy in space applications. The activity will take place in three stages: an informative or introductory stage and two stages with fun activities in a relaxed picnic setting. The activities will be carried out in teams, where participants will design their own satellites with solar cells according to the missions assigned to them. Finally, the prototypes will be used to develop a competition in which the resistance of the satellites and the energy they produce will be evaluated according to the simulated orbits assigned after being sent into “drawn” space from a launch pad. We invite you to participate in this activity while enjoying a real solar park, a competition, and a picnic with your friends, family, or classmates.

Activity promoted by researchers from the Solar Energy Institute (IES-UPM) and the Iberdrola Spain Foundation.
