I studied Biotechnology at the Uniwesytet Warminsko-Mazurski in Olsztyn (Poland). I did a PhD in Dr. Susana Moreno's lab at CIB-CSIC, investigating a plant nuclear envelope protein, NMCP. I continued my scientific career in the same centre, first in Dr. Javier Medina's lab where I investigated the impact of microgravity and light on plant growth, and then I switched to plant virology. With Dr. Tomas Canto, I investigated the viral protein HCPro, and later in the lab with Dr. Cesar Llave, the apoplast composition during viral infection.
