About me

Hi! I'm Luciano Sicali, an Italian PhD researcher at the Centro de Investigaciones Biológicas Margarita Salas (CIB–CSIC) in Madrid. I'm part of the European Marie Skłodowska-Curie program within the ComeInCell project, where I study how proteins can self-organize into complex structures that resemble those of living cells.
My research lies at the intersection of molecular biology, biophysics, and synthetic biology, and aims to shed light on the fundamental principles of life — and maybe bring us a bit closer to building artificial cells!
I’m passionate about science and communication: I strongly believe that research should be shared and accessible to everyone.
