ARIADNA PÉREZ PÉREZ
About me
Hi! I’m Ari: biochemist, chemist, and passionate about tough questions (though preferably after a coffee).
I studied a double degree in Biochemistry and Chemistry because I could never choose between molecules and cells… so I stuck with both. Right now, I’m studying neurodegenerative diseases, trying to understand what happens when the brain starts to forget itself. I research complex processes that affect memory, movement, and ultimately, identity. It’s a field as challenging as it is human, and I feel incredibly lucky to dedicate myself to it.
But if there’s something I enjoy almost as much as research, it’s talking about it. I love science communication—translating technical jargon into clear language and sparking that sense of curiosity in others. Because yes, science can sound like a foreign language… but it can also sound like a casual chat over coffee, if we know how to share it.
Outside the lab, you’ll probably find me playing rugby, doing some kind of sport, or laughing with my friends and family. They’re my grounding force—and my best support network for those days when nothing goes according to protocol.
