About me

I am Jorge Aparicio Pacheco and I am currently doing a PhD in Spanish language at the UAM. In my thesis I study the functioning of semicopulative verbs in Spanish (for example, “ponerse”, “andar” or “resultar” in sentences such as “Se pone nervioso”, “Anda contento” or “Me resulta simpático”). I must confess that I have always been interested in the Spanish language and, above all, in Spanish grammar, but I felt more attracted to them when I was studying for my degree. However, apart from my more research-oriented side, I am also passionate about teaching and the opportunity to share with other people what I dedicate many hours to.
In general, I consider myself an introverted, quiet and hard-working person. I dedicate part of my free time to reading. My favourite literary genre is the novel and, in particular, I like to read authors of the novel of the 20th century such as Pío Baroja or Miguel Delibes. Moreover, since I was a child I have always been a football fan and, in fact, I like to play some games with my friends. In addition, although I have only been playing for a short time, I also like to play paddle tennis.
