About me

I am a Full Professor in the Department of Molecular Biology at the Autonomous University of Madrid, where I studied and obtained my PhD in Chemical Sciences. After several years of postdoctoral research abroad, I returned to Spain with a Ramón y Cajal contract. My work focuses on the study of inherited metabolic diseases and the development of therapies with clinical application. I combine research with teaching and management, where I serve as academic coordinator for the European CIVIS alliance, aiming to promote more international and collaborative education. I also actively participated in initiatives for gender equality in science and chaired the Equality Committee of the Severo Ochoa Center for Molecular Biology, promoting more inclusive science.
