José Alejandro Romero Antolín
About me
I am currently in my third year of doctoral studies in Pharmacy. I hold a degree in Pharmacy (average grade of 7, award for excellence in my final degree project in Pharmacy), a master's degree in Biomaterials (average grade of 9.29 and Special Master's Award), and am currently employed as a PLI within the MAD2D-UCM project, developing my thesis in the Intelligent Biomaterials Research Group (GIBI). My research focuses on the development of biomaterials derived from ionic liquids for the treatment of infections. I have extensive experience working with hydrogels, silica nanoparticles, and polymeric nanoparticles, as well as their respective functionalizations and loading with therapeutic agents. I am able to work in sterile conditions with different cell lines and bacterial strains, and I have knowledge of organic and inorganic chemistry and material characterisation techniques. I have published two scientific articles in Q1 and participated in nine conferences, both national and international. I have participated in various outreach activities, including talks at high schools, previous editions of European Researchers' Night, and guest lectures at undergraduate and master's level.
