Álvaro Piquero holds a PhD in Spanish Literature (2021) and received the Extraordinary Doctorate Award. His main research areas are erotic poetry, from the Middle Ages to the 19th century; Pan-Hispanic ballads and traditional lyric poetry; the life and work of Ramón Menéndez Pidal and his school; and digital humanities. He is currently directing the project: Cataloguing and Digitization of the Menéndez Pidal-Goyri Ballad Archive (ARMPG) at the Ramón Menéndez Pidal Foundation, which houses textual and audio documentation of Pan-Hispanic ballads from the Middle Ages to the 21st century. https://fundacionramonmenendezpidal.org/proyectos/
