Elvira Hernández is a professor in the Department of Applied Mathematics at UNED. She has been involved in teaching various degree programs in Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, and Mathematics, as well as several master's programs and open courses. She is the co-author of several books. In the field of research, she has participated in competitive projects and has published specialized work in the area of optimization. In recent years, she has been actively involved in outreach and citizen science projects and workshops. Her work focuses on breaking down barriers and bringing mathematics closer to everyone, with a particular emphasis on inspiring girls and young women.
