María Ángeles Herrero Vieira
About me
I studied Biology at the Autonomous University of Madrid and the Master in Industrial and Environmental Biotechnology at the Complutense University of Madrid. During those years I did my bachelor’s thesis on scytonemin production by cyanobacteria and my master’s thesis on waste revalorisation through anaerobic digestion. I am currently a pre-doctoral student in the Aquatic Ecology and Biotechnology group at IMDEA Agua. My thesis will focus on the application of cyanotoxin-degrading bacteria in water to mitigate the impact of toxic cyanobacterial blooms. I love nature and my hobbies include climbing, hiking and skating.
