About me

I have a degree in Biology from the Autonomous University of Madrid and a PhD from the University of Barcelona.

I did my thesis at the Institute of Evolutionary Biology (CSIC, Barcelona) in the area of Biodiversity and Ecology studying a group of aquatic beetle species and the influence of temperature on their distribution. I have always worked in the field of Molecular Biology in projects related to biodiversity and epigenetics. It is in the last years of my career that I have combined it with scientific illustration. Illustration has always been present, following courses in scientific and naturalistic drawing, and my first direct contact was when I made an illustration when describing a species. I am fascinated by representing the natural world and its processes, and facilitating its understanding.

In my free time I dedicate myself to improvisational theatre, enjoying music and reading, and spending quality time with family and friends.
