About me

I studied Chemistry at the National University of Cordoba, Argentina. There I had the opportunity to lean towards the study of organic chemistry and the study of reaction mechanisms. My final degree work was based on the design of photoredox reactions using an organic catalyst and the synthesis of fluorescent molecules, as well as their study for their possible use in OLED devices. Years later, in 2016 I started a PhD in chemistry where my research focused on developing and studying photoredox catalysis using visible light applied to organic synthesis methodologies. In 2019, I was awarded an ELAP fellowship (stipend) and joined Prof. Dr. Scaiano in Ottawa, Canada, for six months. My main research focused on developing a photosynthetic route for the catalytic reduction of azides using Pd@TiO2-Nps. During that time, I acquired a solid foundation in synthesis tools to obtain complex organic molecules, gaining knowledge in various aspects of organic chemistry and photophysics, as well as a good knowledge in the field of radical chemistry and the synthesis of nanoparticles using photoreduction methodologies for that purpose. Finally, in 2022 I finished my PhD in chemistry and started a postdoc at IMDEA Energy, Madrid. During my stay as a postdoctoral researcher I focus on the design, synthesis and characterisation of diverse materials such as MOFs (metal-organic frameworks) and silicas that can be used for interesting applications such as environmental remediation, industrial processes, among others. As well as my career in chemistry I also consider myself a person of many hobbies, among which I can name playing the violin and viola, swimming, chess and card games.
