Manuel Carro Liñares, director of IMDEA Software Institute and professor at the Universidad Politécnica of Madrid, holds a PhD in Computer Science from the UPM. His research focuses on the design and implementation of declarative programming languages and for the representation of knowledge and non-monotonic reasoning, part of the path towards explainable artificial intelligence. He also enjoys sports and is passionate about music, both as a listener and as an amateur performer.
