About me

Luca Franceschelli is an Italian researcher at the Department of Aerospace Engineering of the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (UC3M). He is doing his PhD in the field of aeroacoustics and jet flow control. He graduated in aerospace engineering in 2020 and, before joining the UC3M Experimental Aerodynamics Lab, he worked at Ducati Corse, where he developed the aerodynamics of racing motorbikes. His research mainly focuses on the optimisation of jet flow control for aviation technology and noise reduction. In his experiments, he uses different diagnostic techniques combining flow visualisation and probe measurements. He is also interested in the application of machine learning techniques for flow control. Beyond his academic studies, he enjoys scuba diving as a hobby, exploring fascinating underwater environments and shipwrecks.
