About me

PhD in Electrical Engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL), with a specialisation in biomedical image analysis and the development of Open Source solutions. She is currently a professor in the Department of Bioengineering at the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (UC3M). Her work focuses on the integration of artificial intelligence in biomedical research, having contributed to the development of innovative tools such as BioImage Model Zoo, deepImageJ and BiaPy. Internationally recognised, she has been Visiting Professor at Johns Hopkins University and has received the prestigious title of IEEE Fellow. Beyond her academic life, she is a yoga enthusiast, especially yin yoga and hatha hot yoga, and enjoys visiting modern art museums. She is thrilled to have the opportunity to introduce the bioimage.io chatbot to the entire community.
