Co-director of the Autonomous Mobility and Perception Laboratory at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (UC3M) and director of Business Development at Seevia, Abdulla Al-Kaff holds a degree in Computer Engineering and a PhD in Electrical, Electronic and Automation Engineering. He received the Best Doctoral Thesis Award from the IEEE ITSS - Spanish Chapter. His research has had a major impact on intelligent transportation systems and robotics, with more than 65 international publications in pioneering areas such as AI, deep learning and autonomous vehicles. Beyond academia, he is Vice President of the IEEE ITSS Spanish Chapter and Associate Editor of the IEEE Open Journal of Intelligent Transportation Systems. He has led 32 projects, including national and European collaborations, demonstrating the ability to manage complex research initiatives. Extensive IEEE activities include serving on various committees and acting as a judge for the Region 8 IEEEDuino Student Competition, highlighting a commitment to educational and development opportunities. His main hobbies are music, travelling and scuba diving.
