Athul Seshadri Ramanujam

About me

My name is Athul Seshadri and I am from India. I am a pre-doctoral student at IMDEA Energy. I graduated in Chemical Engineering in India and moved to Germany to pursue a Master's degree in Process Engineering, with exchange semesters in Poland and the Netherlands. My first years of research focused on membranes to address energy and water issues. Currently, my research focuses on the design and optimisation of polymer hybrid redox flow batteries for long-life stationary energy storage. In particular, an environmentally friendly, cost-effective polymer recovered from waste is being used for this purpose.

Outside of work, you can find me at the gym, cooking and watching anime or the Premier League to support my favourite club, Chelsea. I also listen to spiritual podcasts, which allows me to unwind and maintain a balance between my personal and professional life.
