PhD. in Biological Sciences. I am a professor in the area of Microbiology at the Faculty of Medicine of the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. Member of the UAM research group “Study of tuberculosis and other mycobacteria” and of the “Molecular Microbiology” research group of the Research Institute Hospital Universitario La Paz (IdiPAZ). My research activity focuses on the pathogenesis of tuberculosis, as well as bacterial latency. I am passionate about what some call the “invisible universe” of the human microbiota and its relationship with health and disease.
