About me

Lucía Doyle has an unconventional and highly multidisciplinary profile. She graduated in Industrial Technical Engineering, Industrial Chemistry from the UAM. Subsequently, she completed a master's degree in Energy and Fuels for the Future, also at the UAM, a master's degree in Design and Management of Technological Projects at the UNIR, and a PhD in Civil Engineering from the University of HafenCity in Hamburg (Germany).
Lucía has worked in multiple R&D projects both in private companies and in the public sector, related to the development of materials for energy applications and environmental engineering from the perspective of the circular economy.
She is currently a post-doctoral researcher at IMDEA Materials thanks to a Marie Skłodowska-Curie grant from the European Commission, where she develops multifunctional materials combining physical foaming with 3D printing. She studies how to develop high-performance materials through microstructure, minimising the number of materials to facilitate their recyclability.
She is the mother of two children. In her free time, besides playing, she enjoys live music and practises yoga.
