Elena Arranz
About me
I am a professor at the Faculty of Sciences of the Autonomous University of Madrid (UAM) and a researcher at the Food Science Research Institute (CIAL-UAM+CSIC). A few years ago I graduated in Biological Sciences at the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM) and did my PhD in Biology and Food Sciences at the UAM. I have extensive research experience abroad with pre and postdoctoral stays at the Universities of Wageningen in the Netherlands and Guelph in Canada and at the Teagasc Moorepark research center in Cork, Ireland. In recent years I have been teaching and researching at the Universities of Cork (UCC) and the Faculty of Pharmacy at UCM. My research experience focuses on the nexus between health and food.
Outside the lab and the classroom you can find me cycling away from the hustle and bustle of the city or hiking to reach the next mountain peak: countryside and nature!
