About me

I studied Biology at the University of León and then completed my Doctoral Thesis at the Pyrenean Institute of Ecology (CSIC) in Zaragoza. After several stays in Great Britain, I joined the University of Alcalá as an associate professor, where I am currently a tenured professor. I coordinate a research group on "biological invasions," where we investigate the causes of the invasive success of some introduced species and the impacts they have on ecosystems. I am concerned about the increasing degradation of ecosystems and the environment, as well as the repercussions this can have on human health.

Among my hobbies are hiking and cycling, as well as reading, swimming, and growing plants.
