About me

I have a degree in Biology from the University of Cagliari (ITALY). I have a master’s degree in environmental microbiology from the Autonomous University of Madrid. In addition, I am a Senior Laboratory Technician. I have worked at CSIC, at the Institute of Agricultural Sciences where I have been studying microorganisms and plants in soils contaminated by heavy metals and their importance in phytoremediation. In the last 5 years I have been part of the group of hospital infections resistant to antibiotics at the National Center of Microbiology (Instituto de Salud Carlos III). Currently I work at Institute IMDEA water in the Membrane Technology group where we study possible strategies for the decontamination of micro nano plastics and biological agents in wastewater (- EMERGING project: Grant PID2022-143233OB-I00 funded by MICIU/AEI /10.13039/501100011033 and by ERDF, EU.).
In my free time my priority is my family, but I also love spending quality time with my friends. I am passionate about reading, watching TV series, listening to good music and traveling whenever possible.
