Ivan holds a degree in Economics from the Autonoma University of Madrid and a degree in Philosophy from Valladolid University. He is an expert financial manager and business strategist. He is currently based in based in the USA.
His professional career has been mainly focused on asset management, Research & Development consultancy and New Product Development. Wide experience developing Financial and Business Plans for Innovation-driven companies. He has also worked in the promotion and design of Research and Development projects financed by the European Union, with a special focus on the development of New Products for the international markets.
He is expert in the development of detailed business and exploitation plans, actionable and with real impact. He has a natural talent and specific know-how for making accurate financial projections and presenting them in a simple and attractive way. He has also a wide knowledge in New Product Development, Marketing and Business Strategy for innovative products and new companies.
Mario Aznar – Innovation and Project Planning
More than 15 years of professional experience in strategic innovation, financing of R&D projects and international project management, with a focus on large international R&D projects involving international innovation management. Strong management, communication, and analytical skills. Previous to Matical, he developed his career as international project coordinator and manager in large international companies (Randstad, Elsevier) and has worked as external innovation consultant for some of the biggest global consultancy companies.
He has been involved also in the management of large international R&D and innovation, in a variety of sciences, technologies and industries, including: Health, Advanced Computing (Blockchain, AI, Big data, etc.), Renewable and green energy, industry 4.0 and smart cities, requiring large budgets and number of partners, as well as complex IPR agreements.
Mario is currently based in Europe. He participates also as a speaker in numerous workshops, conferences and training programmes related to R&D management and strategy and R&D projects financing. He is an external evaluator of the European Commission for innovation projects and a business coach.
