Gema Salinero
About me
I’m Gema Salinero, a PhD researcher in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (UC3M), where I also completed my Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Electronic Engineering and my Master's Degree in Electronic Systems. During my undergraduate studies, I developed my Final Year Project on the design and construction of a Tesla coil—a project that sparked my interest in high-voltage electrical phenomena and led me to specialize in this field. Currently, my research focuses on the study and detection of series arcs. These electrical faults, though difficult to identify, are particularly important in environments such as aviation, where early detection can significantly enhance the safety of onboard electrical systems. Outside of work, I really enjoy my free time, whether outdoors or at home. I love being in the mountains, going hiking, and connecting with nature, but I also appreciate quiet plans at home, like watching a movie, cooking, or reading.
