Natalia Casado Navas
About me
Hello! I'm Natalia Casado Navas, with a diploma in Human Nutrition and Dietetics, a degree in Food Science and Technology, and a PhD in Science. I am currently a Tenured Lecturer at Rey Juan Carlos University in the area of Analytical Chemistry, where I teach across various undergraduate programs and conduct research within the consolidated group in Analytical Chemistry applied to Environment, Food, and Pharmaceuticals (GQAA-MAF).
I began my research career thanks to a Collaboration Grant at the Autonomous University of Madrid, where I also completed a Master’s in Agricultural Chemistry and New Foods. Since then, supported by various grants and contracts, I have conducted research in the field of food science at several national and international institutions, enriching my academic and professional experience in a multidisciplinary way. My research has mainly focused on developing new sustainable and environmentally friendly analytical strategies to improve food quality and safety control. Based on this, I primarily work on the determination of bioactive compounds (polyphenols) and chemical contaminants (pharmaceuticals, natural toxins).
I love nature and discovering new places, so in my free time I enjoy walking and traveling. Another one of my great passions is music—I play the piano—and I also really enjoy reading and watching series in their original language.
