Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the Autonomous University of Madrid and director of a research group at the Severo Ochoa Center for Molecular Biology. My research focuses on a group of rare diseases, inherited metabolic disorders, the study of their pathophysiology, and the development of advanced therapies, with a focus on gene editing and RNA therapies. I am committed to teaching, academic and scientific management, and mentoring young researchers. I also enjoy spending time with family, friends, and nature in my free time.
