Ana Martínez-Carrasco Pérez
About me
I am Ana Martínez-Carrasco. I studied Environmental Sciences at the University of Salamanca and later completed a master’s degree in Environmental Management and Auditing. When I realized that I really enjoyed "tinkering" in the lab, I decided to complement my studies with a higher vocational training program in Laboratory Analysis and Quality Control. Thanks to that, my career at CSIC began. Over the years, I have worked in different CSIC centers belonging to various fields of knowledge, which has helped me develop a broader view of research. My initial challenges included contributing to the fight against antibiotic resistance and searching for new active biomolecules, among other things. Later, I tackled the major issue of air pollution, and currently, I work at the Institute of Agricultural Sciences as part of the Sustainable Agriculture and Biogeochemistry group. I am curious and very creative; in my free time, I love painting and doing all kinds of crafts, anything related to art and culture (cinema, theater, dance...), and of course, traveling whenever I can and spending time with my family and friends.
