About me

I have a degree in Biology with a specialization in Health Biology from the Complutense University of Madrid and an MSc in Biodiversity of Tropical Areas from the Menéndez Pelayo University in coordination with the CSIC in Madrid.
I am currently contracted with a PFIS grant from the Instituto de Salud Carlos III (FI22/00022), within the group of María Guembe Ramírez, who leads the research line on biofilm-associated infections, included in the research group 4.01 Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases of the Instituto de Investigación Sanitaria del Hospital Gregorio Marañón. We carry out research activities, in conjunction with other hospital services, related to the diagnosis, prophylaxis and treatment of bacterial and fungal infections associated with biofilms, both on medical devices, such as catheters, breast prostheses, joint prostheses; and on tissues, such as vaginal candidiasis. And, in this context, the current development of my Doctoral Thesis focuses on the use of nanotechnology for the optimization of the treatment of catheter-associated infections.
Outside of work, I love to travel, read and do hiit and other training in preparation for long distance running like half marathons.
