The Spanish Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (SEBBM) is joining the activities of the European Night of Researchers in Madrid with a conference-workshop at the Institución Libre de Enseñanza (Pº del Gral. Martínez Campos, 14, 28010 Madrid). The SEBBM is participating in the European Night of Researchers 2024, an initiative that takes place annually simultaneously in 340 cities across Europe, and which in the Community of Madrid is coordinated by the Fundación para el Conocimiento madri+d, with the common goal of bringing scientific research closer to the public. The activity we are proposing this year 2024, for Friday, September 27, is a scientific outreach talk to be given by Dr. Sara García Linares, a teacher and researcher in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the Complutense University of Madrid. She is also a great popularizer and co-author of the book “Las fragmentos que comemos”. In addition, there will be 2 workshops to observe or experience the molecules that we can find in our food. Sara García Linares will give a talk entitled: “The molecules we eat”. Sara García Linares' conference is open to all audiences and will be free of charge until the auditorium is full (256 seats). The workshops will take place after the talk, also open to all audiences, and will have a capacity of 5-6 people per workshop every 15 minutes.
