Marina Rodríguez Carreiro

About me

I am a predoctoral student in the Polymer Biotechnology group at the Biological Research Institute – Margarita Salas (CSIC). I studied Biotechnology at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and I am working on my doctoral thesis in Microbiology and Parasitology at Universidad Complutense de Madrid. My research is focused on the design of new functionalized biomaterials for biomedical applications. My tasks are involved in the European project PROMICON (Harnessing the Power of Nature Through Productive Microbial Consortia in Biotechnology - Measure, Model, Master). When I leave the lab, I like to enjoy the environment, discovering new places, or doing different sports. Moreover, I have studied piano for eight years and I like to devote some of my free time to music, which is one of my favourite hobbies.
