Europe Day at Eugenio Trías Library

In 2024, and after several consecutive years, the CSIC centers on the UAM campus will celebrate Europe Day in the Eugenio Trías library, the former Retiro Menagerie. It is a 2-hour activity aimed at high school students. We will be there on May 8, 9 and 10 (Wednesday, Thursday and Friday), each day with two passes: from 9:30 to 11:30, and from 12:00 to 14:00. The activity consists of a one (1) hour meeting with researchers who work in the European environment, in order to make visible the research we do in the European framework, and the possibilities that the European Union offers to participate, promote and finance research in various areas (biology, materials science, chemistry, physics, etc.). Next, in the second hour of the activity, students will be able to do a gymkhana about Nobel scientists: our Escape Road, an activity based on an exhibition about researchers who have won the Nobel Prize in scientific disciplines, or their equivalents in Mathematics ( Abel Prize and Campos Medal). The student will be divided into groups that will compete with each other by solving questions about the exhibition. Of course, there will be prizes for the winning team. Other relevant researchers whose contributions were denied recognition will also be announced.
