About me
Vishnu A.R. is currently a Doctoral candidate in the Department of Continuum Mechanics and Structural Analysis at the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (UC3M). Vishnu is also a part of the project PURPOSE, funded by the European Research Council (ERC Starting grant). His research interests lie in the broad area of solid mechanics, both computational and experimental, specifically under extreme loading conditions. His current focus is on the formation of adiabatic shear bands in porous metallic materials when subjected to dynamic loading. He was born and raised in Kerala, India. Before moving to Spain, he earned his Master’s degree (M. Tech.) in Aerospace Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IIT Kanpur), India. His research at IIT Kanpur was focused on composite materials. He also holds a Bachelor’s degree (B.Tech) in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Calicut, India. Apart from research, he loves playing badminton and hiking in mountains.
