Do you know what is a rare disease and the difficulties their patients have to face? Have you ever heard about Hutchinson-Gilford progeria syndrome (or progeria), a disease characterized by premature aging? At CNIC, we would like to tell you about this rare disease and the basic research we perfom in animal models to understand better how its symptoms appear. The ultimate goal of our research is facilitating the design of therapies that can improve the quality of life and survival of patients with progeria. Sing up to this activity and you will be informed first hand from researchers investigating in progeria and will learn with them laboratories techniques routinely used in their research.
