About me

uan Manuel Blanch Nougués graduated with the extraordinary end-of-course prize and Doctor of Law from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (1987). From 1999 to the present, he is professor of Roman Law at CEU San Pablo University. He has been Dean of its Faculty of Law from 2000 to 2011.
He has numerous publications of his specialty. More recently, he is the author of the first translation of the treatise of Benvenuto Stracca (17th century), De conturbatoribus sive decoctoribus. He is also the author of a novel work about Latin expressions: "Locuciones latinas y razonamiento jurídico" (2017).
First Prize for Quality Improvement of Universities in the Autonomous Community of Madrid (2001). Ángel Herrera Award for the best teaching work (2010-2011). Ángel Herrera Research Prize (2010 - 2011), Prize for excellence in Law Degree (2017).
Visiting lecturer at prestigious universities in the United States of America, Germany, Italy and Latin America (Colombia and Mexico).
Hobbies: trips with family, history and philosophy books, lover of early music and choral music. He studied classical guitar at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Madrid. Renaissance lute and vihuela player with the group “Musica Antiqua” directed by Luis Paniagua. He was a singer and substitute director of the San Jorge Choir of Madrid, and a singer of the Cantiga Choir of Madrid.
