Ana María Diez Pascual
About me
Full Professor of the Department of Analytical Chemistry, Physical Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at the University of Alcala. Graduated in Chemistry (2001, Extraordinary Award) at the UCM, where she
developed her PhD with an FPU scholarship (2002-2005). In 2005, she made a stay at the Max Planck Institute of Colloids&Interfaces (Germany), where she carried out the rheological characterization of polymers and surfactants. Postdoctoral researcher (2006-2008) at the Physical Chemistry Institute of the University of Aachen (Germany), she worked on the assembly of polyelectrolytes on thermoresponsive microgels for the controlled release of drugs. In 2008, she moved to the Institute of Polymer Science and Technology (ICTP-CSIC) where she participated in a collaborative project with the National Research Council of Canada to develop nanocomposites reinforced with carbon nanotubes (CNT). In 2009 she made a stay at the Institute for Aerospace Research (Canada) where she prepared fiberglass laminates with CNTs. Subsequently, with a contract, Juan de la Cierva began a research line on hybrid compounds with nanoparticles and CNT. In 2011, with a JAEDoc contract, another line was started on the incorporation of graphene and CNT in thermoplastic/thermoset mixtures. In 2014, she joined the UAH with a Ramón y Cajal contract, where she developed polymer/surfactant systems with CNT and graphene for use as optical sensors. In 2020, she was appointed Full Professor. She likes to travel, swim and visit museums.
