About me

Ana de Santiago's research activity has been developed in the field of environmental pollution. She has a PhD in Pharmacy (2013) with a European Mention and a Folch Award from the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM). She worked 5 years (2008-2013) as an Assistant in the Department of Soil Science (UCM) where she specialized in the study of the distribution and availability of metals in agricultural soils, the evaluation of bioindicators and the risk of entry into the trophic chain. Subsequently, she worked 3 years (2014-2016) as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Laval University (Quebec, Canada). Her research focused on the evaluation and geo/phytoremediation of pollutants in diverse anthropic pressure scenarios. She is a Co-Principal Investigator for the state projects FatePharM (CTM2017-89995-R) and Nat4Health (recently awarded), which assess the natural attenuation and risk to human health of contaminants of emerging concern in the agricultural environment. She is the author of more than 25 articles and has made more than 40 contributions at national and international conferences.
