Theresa Schell
About me
My name is Theresa Schell. I’m from Germany and am working as a research assistant at the IMDEA Water Institute. I have carried out a Bachelor’s in Environmental Science and a Master’s in Ecotoxicology. In my PhD thesis I have investigated the occurrence and effects of microplastics in freshwater environments. My current job at IMDEA involves the analysis of microplastics from samples taken in nature, such as river water and sediment or soil. I love nature and I especially enjoy when we sample in rivers and lakes. In my free time I like to go hiking and cycling and to explore new places and cities. My other passions are playing the piano and baking.
