Andrea Sánchez Meseguer
About me
PhD in Biological Sciences from the Autonomous University of Madrid (UAM), I am currently a scientist at the Royal Botanical Garden-CSIC of Madrid, within the Department of Plant Biodiversity and Conservation. My research activity focuses on the reconstruction of the evolutionary history of plants. Currently, I am responsible for two research projects that try to understand the patterns and processes that have generated the extraordinary diversity of plants that we observe on the planet. I have also participated in various scientific outreach activities such as the "RJB Scientific Marathon" or the "Day of Women and Girls in Science", as well as in outreach workshops in schools. In my free time I enjoy walking through nature, reading and playing with my son.
