Andrea Lirola
About me
My name is Andrea. I am a biologist and I did a master's degree in Biodiversity and Conservation in Tropical Areas. I have done research stays in fields as different as agriculture, molecular biology and evolutionary biology. I am currently working as a pre-doctoral researcher at the National Museum of Natural Sciences in Madrid, where I am studying the origin and evolution of population divergence in birds of oceanic islands that show ecological and morphological traits different from those of the mainland.
My current research project focuses on the study of Anna's hummingbird (Calypte anna) and the Mexican bullfinch (Haemorhous mexicanus amplus) on the island of Guadalupe, Mexico.
My interest in biology is also part of my hobbies outside of work, such as scientific ringing and field trips. I also enjoy music and art in general.
