Mario Márquez Toribio
About me
Graduated in Biology from the University of Seville (2019), he completed an International Double Master in Biotechnology of Environment and Health at the University of Oviedo (Spain) and in Molecular Biology and Environmental Microbiology at the University of Pau et des Pays de l'Adour (France) (2022). His Master's Thesis was carried out at the Laboratory of Infection of the Institute of Microbiology of the Czech Academy of Sciences (Czech Republic).
Throughout his training, he complemented his career with several international stays in renowned research centres, where he participated in scientific projects in different fields. After finishing his studies, he worked as a Research Support Technician in the Genomics and Bioinformatics Units of the Institute of Parasitology and Biomedicine López-Neyra (CSIC), while obtaining a Specialisation Diploma in Bioinformatics Analysis from the Pablo de Olavide University (2024).
He is currently a Research Assistant at the Microbial Ecology Unit of IMDEA Agua, under a contract funded by the European Union through the Investigo Programme.
